Refund & Return Policy

Each seller decides whether to allow returns for their item and will indicate it on the listing (see below examples). If they accept returns, the return will be handled according to Nearly Newlywed's official return policy and procedures outlined below, including the 72-hour return window and applicable fees.

72-Hour Reporting Window

Buyers have a 72-hour window from the time UPS marks their item as delivered to:

  1. Record a thorough unpacking video & inspection of their item (required)
  2. Click either the “Yes, I'm happy with my order” or the “Report an Issue or Start a return” button in the delivery confirmation email:


We do not release the seller's payment until the buyer confirms they’ve received the item as described or 72 hours have passed since delivery. 


Items marked "I will accept returns"

If the item you purchase allows returns, you may return it for any reason as long as you notify NN within the return window.

Return Fee

For eligible returnable items, a $25 USD flat return fee will be deducted from your refund.

  • Original shipping fees are non-refundable
  • If the return is approved due to a misrepresented item, the return fee may be waived

Reporting a Misrepresented Item (Domestic Orders Only)

If you purchased an item that is Final Sale, and discover an issue when you receive it, you may be eligible for a return with a full refund, or a partial refund if you want to keep it, of the purchase value for the following reasons:

  • Item is not as described or not authentic
  • Wrong item
  • Item never arrives
  • Item arrives with undisclosed damage
    • If the undisclosed damage is repairable, our support team will guide you through your options and work with the seller to come to a resolution that works for both parties - this may include a partial refund if you are happy to keep your item.
  • Missing items
    • If your item arrives but is missing something that the listing stated it would come with, we will work with your seller to ship the missing item to you. Garment bags are considered to be a bonus item and are not required to be included.

To be eligible for a return, where the seller of the item has indicated returns are allowed, your item must be:

  1. In the same condition that you received it
  2. Unworn or unused
  3. With tags attached (if applicable)
  4. In its original packaging

Items marked "I won't accept returns"

If an item is marked “I won't accept returns” it is considered a final sale and not eligible for return under normal circumstances.

However, if the item arrives significantly misrepresented, you should report any issue within the 72-hour delivery window by clicking the “Report an Issue or Start a return” button in the delivery confirmation email:

Our team will open an investigation, asking you to provide the unpacking video, picture and a description of your concerns.


Orders NOT Eligible for Return

Buyers Remorse

Returns are not accepted in cases where:

  • The item does not suit your personal style or was not what you were hoping for
  • The listing description was not fully read
  • The buyer did not contact the seller with questions about the item before purchasing

Doesn't Fit

Review sizing carefully and confirm with the seller before purchasing. All purchases should be made according to the tag size and measurements, not the street size, which is subjective and intended for guidance only.

Acceptable Wear and Tear

Even a brand-new item may show gentle signs of being handled. When a dress is tried on or packaged/unpackaged to ship, it is reasonable to expect some signs of acceptable wear and tear during these actions.

NN considers reasonable and acceptable signs of wear to be typically minor, infrequent, and easily remedied. Each concern is reviewed on a case-by-case basis by our team. Learn more here: Acceptable Wear & Tear Policy.

Returns Process Limitations

  • Returns requested after the 72-hour window will not be accepted
  • Items returned without approval will not be accepted
  • Issues or return requests not submitted through our return system are not eligible. The “Report an Issue or Start a Return” must be clicked to trigger the return process.

International Shipments

Orders shipped between countries are final sale. Buyers are responsible for doing their due diligence, which includes:

  • Requesting photos or videos to verify condition and authenticity
  • Confirming sizing, fit, and any alterations before purchase

Transactions Outside of Nearly Newlywed

Only items purchased directly through the NN marketplace are eligible for return or refund.

Fees

  • Shipping fees are non-refundable for standard returns
  • Listing fees are non-refundable once a listing is live on the NN marketplace.

Reduce The Risk Before You Buy

Final Sale or Return Policy?

Every seller sets her individual return policy. Before buying an item, please check the listing to see if they note a return policy or final sale.

Buy Within Your Size Range

To avoid disappointment, always purchase a dress that falls within your size range. It's generally easier to take a dress in by one or two sizes than to let it out, especially if it has already been altered. Most manufacturers leave only about ½-1 inch of extra fabric for letting out seams.

Ask Plenty of Questions

Before purchasing, verify the authenticity, condition, and alterations of the dress. Don’t hesitate to ask the seller detailed questions about size, color, fabric, past wear, and any modifications made.

Ask for Pictures & Videos

SO IMPORTANT! You need to see the dress in its current condition as of today. An honest seller won’t mind – a scammer will make up a reason they can’t send you pictures of the item as it looks right now in their hands.

Refused or Return to Sender Shipments

If you refuse delivery or fail to claim your package (including abandonment at UPS or any carrier facility), your order will not be refunded. Once the item is returned to the sender:

  • You will be invoiced for the cost of re-shipping the item back to you
  • If you decline to pay the re-shipping fee, no refund will be issued, and the item will be stored for you for up to 30 days
  • After 30 days, unclaimed items will be considered abandoned and may be relisted for sale by NN
