Is this message a scam?
If you sense something is off, it probably is. Email our team directly (support@preownedweddingdresses.com) or via our Contact Form, and send a screenshot of the message you received. We'll let you know if the inquiry is authentic or if you should ignore it.
It is impossible to avoid scammers when selling online, but when you know how selling on Nearly Newlywed works and how to spot a scam, you can sell with confidence.
Impersonations of our support team
Scammers will attempt to impersonate our support team via a buyer account (with a normal name), falsely claiming your item sold and requesting financial details for "account verification" before they will let your sale proceed. This person is not affiliated with NN, this is not how our selling process works.
We will NEVER ask for your credit card, banking login, or personal details, nor will we ask you to click a QR code to verify a sale.
Official sale notifications come directly to your NN account & email. When your item sells, you will receive an email directly to your NN account (and personal email) that looks like this:
Claiming they can't send or receive pictures & videos
Scammers may also try to take the conversation off-site - sometimes it’s as simple as asking you to email them additional photos, claiming they cannot see the ones you sent via chat. You’ll never need to share personal information, or move communications or transactions outside of NN. Photos, videos, and even video calls can be shared right through our built-in chat, and all transactions are processed safely through our secure payment system.
